The Montour-Delong Community Fair is a hub for livestock enthusiasts, where 4-H kids showcase their hard work and dedication. Mackenzie Heyler, a young participant from Watsontown, has been preparing her sheep, Carl, for months, ensuring he is in peak condition for the competition. "I take him to shows, different fairs, and I jack paw as well, and I get to learn new experiences," Heyler shared, highlighting the invaluable lessons she gains through her involvement in the fair.Liegha Vargeson, another 4-H member from Bloomsburg, meticulously cares for her livestock, washing, brushing, and blanketing them to ensure they are ready to impress the judges. "I take him to the wash rack, I wish him all out, and I bring him back over here. I blow out their legs and brush out their legs, and then I put the blanket back on—put the blanket on them, and then when it's time to show, I take them over to the ring and take off their blanket," Vargeson explained, showcasing the dedication and attention to detail required in preparing these animals for the competition.Mackenzie Fox, from Bloomsburg, shares the excitement of showcasing her cow, Daisy, in the arena. "To get to walk her in the arena and get a ribbon to hang on your wall, so it's really fun to do this," she expressed, underscoring the sense of accomplishment and pride that comes with participating in the fair's livestock events.

"We have live reindeer, permanent jewelry, some woodworking, we have a woodcarver that's going to carve live at the end of the week that's definitely exciting and something to look forward to," shared Julie Cope, the fair's president.The live reindeer exhibit promises to captivate visitors, offering a unique and enchanting experience. The permanent jewelry demonstration allows attendees to witness the intricate process of creating custom jewelry pieces on-site.
