Cheddar Wafers
Ingredients

2 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup sesame seeds, toasted

2 cup finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese (8 ounces)

1 tablespoon packed brown sugar

½ - 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper

¼ teaspoon baking powder

¼ teaspoon salt

½ cup butter, melted

1 egg
Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper; set aside. In a large bowl stir together flour, sesame seeds, cheddar cheese, brown sugar, crushed red pepper, baking powder, and salt. Add butter and egg; mix until blended.

Shape 1 teaspoon dough into a ball and place on the prepared cookie sheet; repeat with remaining dough, spacing balls 2 inches apart. Flatten balls to 1 1/2-inch circles.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges and bottoms are light brown. Cool on cookie sheet on wire rack for 2 minutes. Transfer wafers to wire racks and let cool. Divide wafers among gift packages.
Make-Ahead Directions:
Store wafers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
