Mozzarella Cheese Sticks Recipe
Gooey, crispy mozzarella cheese sticks are the perfect appetizer or late night snack when you’re craving something cheesy and delicious. This recipe is easy and straightforward to follow, so you should be able to make golden sticks every time. Pair them with some rich marinara sauce and your stomach will thank you.
Tips for Making Mozzarella Cheese Sticks
Follow these simple tips and you'll end up with tasty, golden mozzarella cheese sticks.
- Fully coat your sticks. If you miss a spot, then the cheese could easily escape. Make sure that the breading completely covers every stick for a great tasting snack. It’s best to repeat the breading process twice, or even three times, to ensure the stick stays intact. When the breading is thicker, there's a smaller chance that the stick will burst.
- Cut your cheese into small pieces. The cheese is going to expand while cooking, so don’t cut your block of mozzarella into pieces that are too big. If you’re using pre-made cheese sticks, simply cut them in the center.
- Test out different dipping sauces. While pairing mozzarella with marinara sauce is the classic way to eat this treat, you could also try dipping your sticks into nacho cheese sauce, ranch dressing, or garlic sauce.
