Jamison Beck, who had wandered away from his nearby apartment complex on Mission Lane, was struck by the vehicle as he walked onto the roadway.

The Good Samaritan's Attempt to Intervene

According to the Boone County Sheriff's Office, a good Samaritan had just passed through the area and noticed the young child standing on the road unsupervised. The good Samaritan turned around to stop traffic and make contact with the 4-year-old, but tragically, Jamison was struck before the Samaritan could reach him.

The Devastating Aftermath

Lifesaving measures were immediately attempted by deputies and the Florence Fire Department, but Jamison's injuries were too severe. He was airlifted to Cincinnati Children's Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day.
